DUBAI // Three men cleared of kidnapping a man and demanding a Dh200,000 ransom have had their acquittal upheld by the Appeals Court.
A R, 32, and A H, 26, both from Afghanistan, and S A, 30, from Pakistan, were accused of attacking the man on August 9 last year as he walked alone in Deira.
The victim claimed they struck his genital area before bundling him into a car and driving him to a house in Al Rashidiya, where they locked him up.
He was then forced to call his wife and ask her to send the ransom. He claimed they were motivated by a business deal involving one of his friends that fell through.
They denied the allegations and were cleared by the Criminal Court in April.
