DUBAI // An anti-human trafficking diploma programme has been developed by the Human Rights Department at Dubai Police in cooperation with the National Human Rights Committee.
The programme is the first of its kind to be launched in the Arab world and will be taught at the Dubai Judicial Institute.
Twenty-five students from various police bodies, human rights associations, shelters and federal and local government entities have enrolled in the programme, which aims provide training and experience and a base to deal with this type of crime.
Dr Saeed Al Ghafli, assistant undersecretary for the Ministry of FNC Affairs attended the launch and said these 25 students are just the first step of this programme. He added that the programme goes beyond theory and provides practical training, based on the expertise and experience of lecturers.
He said the programme will contribute to the country’s efforts in the fight against human trafficking crimes.
