Dh60 million set aside to settle 99 cases of debt in Sharjah
SHARJAH // Dh60million has been set aside to settle 99 cases of debt in Sharjah.
Sharjah Debt Settlement Committee has approved the sum, with the Emirati beneficiaries either wanted or convicted in financial cases, dead or unable to settle their debt.
Rashid Al Sheikh, head of the debt committee, said that the settlements were the 13th time the committee has acted to settle debts.
He said that since the first round of debt settlements, more than Dh357.2 million has been paid out to settle 852 cases for Sharjah citizens.
The move is in line with the directives of the Sharjah Ruler, Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, to ensure decent living standards for Emiratis.
