DUBAI// A 25-year-old driver denied molesting an flight attendant after moving furniture into her apartment, Dubai Criminal Court heard on Monday.

“I am innocent,” Pakistani M D told judges as he denied a sexual assault charge.

Prosecutors said the incident happened on January 18 this year at the Chinese victim’s apartment in Al Qusais.

“I bought some furniture from Home Centre, which provided me with the contact number of the driver who will carry the items to my place,” said J W, whose age was not in records.

She said after M D delivered her furniture at nearly 8pm that day, she thanked him by shaking his hand. “But to my surprise he hugged me tightly and then touched my breast, I stopped him and asked him to leave at which point he apologised and left,” said J W.

The flight attendant immediately told her building’s security guard to stop the driver from leaving until she contacted police.

A verdict is expected on March 17.
