Smart services see Dubai Courts scoop second prize in global courtroom tech award

The courts has implemented more than 200 smart services in recent years, helping it get second spot in the Top 10 Court Technology Solutions Award, held in Washington DC recently.

Implementing hundreds of smart services has seen Dubai Courts come second in an award for the most tech-savvy courtrooms on the planet.

In recent years Dubai Courts has launched 210 smart services, which was enough to finish second in the Top 10 Court Technology Solutions Award, which is as part of the eighth Annual International Association for Court Administration gatherings, which took place in Washington DC recently.

“The award goes to courts that are most successful in implementing technological solutions in judicial services,” said Tarish Eid Al Mansouri, director general of Dubai Courts.

“Dubai Courts' great work on the smart turn is one of the most important reasons we received the award, which also comes as recognition of the innovations offered by Dubai Courts through the use of state-of-the-art technology such as automation of the case file, among a range of many other smart services.”

Dubai Courts has an ambitious strategy for transformation, in line with Dubai’s 2021 plan and the Dubai’s Smart Government Strategy, Mr Al Mansouri added.

“Our strategy includes a range of initiatives that are based on creativity in smart services and basic systems, enhancing channels of interaction with users, centralisation of payment and exchange systems, managing the documentary cycle, data analysis and internal institutional excellence,” he said.

Smart and electronic services at Dubai Courts have contributed to raising the level of individuals’ trust in the judicial system in Dubai to 82 per cent last year, a study found. Customer satisfaction was at 91 per cent and  employee satisfaction at 87 per cent, Mr Al Mansouri said.

Last year, 266,664 applications were completed using Dubai Courts’ smart services and already in the first six months of this year that figure was 158,568.
