DUBAI // The Pakistani consulate has issued a no-objection certificate to allow the bodies of two sisters believed to have been drowned by their father at their home in Dubai last week to be repatriated by their family.

The request was made to the consulate by Dubai Police, however it is not yet clear whether the bodies of the girls, aged two and seven years old, will be buried in Dubai or flown to Pakistan.

“The decision on where to bury the children will be taken by the wife,” said a spokesman for the consulate.

An no-objection certificate has also been issued for the body of the 39-year-old father, who also drowned.

“For the husband, it’s not clear. It could be his family back in Pakistan who decide,” said the spokesman.
