A court has ended an appeal by a man convicted of heroin possession.

L J was jailed for 10 years and fined Dh50,000, after an initial sentence by the Al Ain Court of First Instance, of 15 years and a Dh200,000 fine, plus four years for consuming morphine.

The Court of Appeal reduced the sentence to 10 years and the fine to Dh50,000.

Two months later, he then requested a cassation. But this was refused because it had to be filed within 30 days of an appeal verdict.
