Cleaner stole 4x4 and sold it to an Omani, Dubai court hears

DUBAI // A Pakistani cleaner and his jobless compatriot stole an Isuzu 4x4 and sold it to an Omani man, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

On July 15, 2014, the men, aged 20 and 31, broke into the car parked in Al Qusais by smashing one of the windows.

Police were able to link the defendants to the theft and arrested them on September 10 the same year.

An Emirati police lieutenant said one of the men confessed and led officers to his accomplice.

During questioning they said they sold the stolen car to an Omani.

Court records did not say why the case took two years to come to court.

The men denied theft charges. The next hearing will be on May 8.
