DUBAI // A cleaner who denied touching a woman’s breast while helping her collect her belongings from an office was found not guilty of sexual assault.

On May 15, the 28-year-old Filipina was working late at her office in Dubai Healthcare City.

“About 9.30pm, I went to my desk to take my bag and laptop then leave but I found the doors locked so I called for the cleaner to open them for me,” said the accountant.

She said that the Indian, 34, opened up the office but, as the woman walked inside, he allegedly touched her breast.

“I jumped away from him and he started apologising,” said the woman, who informed security and her manager.

A police officer told the court: “The defendant was arrested after she lodged a complaint and he said his elbow touched her breast by mistake.”

The cleaner denied a sexual assault charge in court in September and the court agreed.
