Child welfare leads agenda



ABU DHABI// The Higher Committee for Child Protection recently met at Abu Dhabi Police HQ to discuss a number of issues relating to child protection.

Chaired by Maj Gen Dr Nasser Al Nuaimi, secretary general of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and chairman of the committee, at the ministry, the meeting discussed ways to improve the services provided by committee as well as reaching its objectives.

Maj Gen Al Nuaimi said the committee supported local and international efforts that ensure the protection of children from abuse and was committed to establishing the UAE as a regional role model in the reinforcing child protection and safety.

The committee also proposes child protection policies for certain authorities as well as coordination among the organisations working in the fields of child protection.
