ABU DHABI // The chief executive of Abu Dhabi Media is to leave the company.

Ayman Safadi’s departure follows the completion of a company-wide restructuring programme.

It was announced on Thursday by Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, chairman of Abu Dhabi Media, which owns The National.

Saif Saeed Ghobash, chief operating officer, has been named acting chief executive.

Mr Safadi and Mr Ghobash have both worked on the company’s restructure since March 2012.

Mr Safadi joined Abu Dhabi Media under the agreement that he would see it through its transitional phase and until the end of a programme overhauling the company’s governance structure, its operating model, and its content production and distribution capabilities.

Mr Al Mazrouei said: “I thank Ayman for his fruitful role in overseeing the successful restructuring of ADM.

“I am also confident that Saif will lead the company towards continued success and recognition.

Mr Safadi thanked Mr Al Mazrouei and the board of directors for their support during his time at the company.

He recognised the tremendous efforts demonstrated by the broader team at Abu Dhabi Media over the past two years.

“I wish Saif great success as he assumes these responsibilities,” Mr Safadi said. “He has been a great source of support and a true partner. I am certain the company will witness more successes and achievements under his able stewardship.”

Difference between fractional ownership and timeshare

Although similar in its appearance, the concept of a fractional title deed is unlike that of a timeshare, which usually involves multiple investors buying “time” in a property whereby the owner has the right to occupation for a specified period of time in any year, as opposed to the actual real estate, said John Peacock, Head of Indirect Tax and Conveyancing, BSA Ahmad Bin Hezeem & Associates, a law firm.
