ABU DHABI // The case of government officials accused of placing CCTV cameras in a women’s customer service office should be decided by a court in Al Ain, the Abu Dhabi Misdemeanour Court ruled on Tuesday.
The court decided it was not authorised to look at the case because the offence occurred in Al Ain.
It announced February 2 as a date for the first hearing in the Al Ain court.
Defence attorneys said they had appealed this decision to the attorney general.
They said some of the alleged offences occurred in Abu Dhabi, therefore the case should not be mored.
Moreover, the judge who issued the ruling is not the same judge who listened to defence presenting their case in the previous hearing.
The attorney general’s decision was expected by the end of the day.
