DUBAI // A Bangladeshi salesman was sentenced to three months in jail by the Dubai Criminal Court on Monday for threatening to stab his compatriot.

The court heard that on June 20, M S, 41, and M M, 31, had an argument at their accommodation.

M M threatened to call the police on the defendant, who picked up a knife and threatened to stab M M in the stomach.

It was not mentioned in court why M M was intending to call the police.

A witness to the events, M A, 45, said: “I heard them arguing so I walked out to see what was happening and then saw M S carrying a knife and making stabbing threats.”

M S denied a charge of issuing threats to kill when he appeared in court.
