Autism centre for Umm Al Quwain to open next year

ABU DHABI // An autism centre in Umm Al Quwain will be officially inaugurated early next year.

According to Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic-language sister publication, the centre will be fitted with the latest equipment used for the treatment of autism.

The centre will provide services to patients in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain. It will have capacity for around 100 cases including children and young adults between the ages of 2 and 18.

Twenty people will now be selected for administrative positions and as technicians, therapists, teachers, professionals and nutritionists.

The centre will offer autism education programmes and methods, namely in teaching, behaviour analysis and diagnostic tests.
