Firefighting teams from the General Department of Civil Defence in Ajman contained a huge fire that broke out on Friday evening at a home furniture warehouse in the new industrial zone.
The fire resulted in significant material losses, but caused no injuries.
Civil Defence teams, in collaboration with vehicles and water tankers from Sharjah and UAQ, put out the fire before it spread to other buildings.
Col Nasser Al Zari, head of media and public relations at Ajman Civil Defence said the operations centre received a report about the fire at 9pm.
He said the operation lasted for four hours, including an hour for the site to cool down.
Colonel Al Zari called on owners of warehouses and industrial buildings to conduct regular maintenance to fire alarm systems and avoid blocking exits to allow firefighters easy access in an emergency. He urged them to check the electrical wiring.
