ABU DHABI // Adihex, the four-day Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, returns in September and promises to be the biggest and best yet.

It will include a falcon beauty contest, saluki beauty contests, art competitions and traditional hunting and equestrian activities.

Visitors to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre will also be able to purchase equestrian, outdoor and marine sports, safari and weaponry equipment as well as arts and antiques.

A record-breaking 118,994 visitors from across the emirates and GCC attended last year. The event, which is always extremely popular with Emiratis as well as expatriates, featured more than 600 exhibitors from 40 countries. In 2012 there were 111,298 visitors and about 95,000 visitors the year before that.

In a bid to top last year’s figure, the Adihex organising committee has been taking part in a number of international hunting and equestrian exhibitions, including seven in Germany, to encourage worldwide exhibitors to join the Abu Dhabi event.

Exhibitors hope this year’s event will be the best yet.

The exhibition enables visitors to view the deep-rooted Emirati heritage through Abu Dhabi city, interact with thousands of hunting and outdoor sports fans.

They will also enjoy a variety of cultural heritage activities and live shows, and engage in competitions that introduce participants to the established traditions of Abu Dhabi and UAE.

The exhibition begins on September 10 and will open daily between 11am and 10pm.
