DUBAI // More than nine kilograms of hash was seized from the home of a 38-year-old Asian man in Al Muraqqabat.

Maj Gen Khalil Al Mansouri, assistant to the Dubai Police chief in Criminal Investigation Affairs, said that the suspect was charged with drug consumption and dealing.

“A unit from the anti-narcotics department raided the suspect’s home, where they found 9.396 kilograms of hash,” he said. “Some of the drugs were hidden in a wall in the bathroom, and some was hidden in one of the stairs in the kitchen.

“They also found Dh22,000 in cash, which the suspect admitted was his earnings from dealing drugs.”

The suspect is married and works in Dubai as a driver. He was allegedly in touch with a smuggler who lives abroad, Dubai Police said.
