Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, met Chancellor Karl Nehammer of Austria in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
The pair discussed regional and international issues, including the crisis in Ukraine and its impact on global security and peace.
They underlined the need to find a peaceful settlement through dialogue, negotiation and diplomatic solutions, and stressed the importance of providing humanitarian support to civilians.
Sheikh Mohamed added that the UAE, through its presidency of the UN Security Council, is doing everything in its power to encourage peaceful solutions to the Ukraine crisis and to co-operate with all parties concerned.
He also expressed his thanks to Chancellor Nehammer for Austria's condemnation of the Houthi terrorist attacks on civil facilities and sites in the UAE, it was reported by the WAM news agency.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed noted the close relations between the UAE and Austria and the steady growth in cooperation witnessed over recent years.

Safety 'top priority' for rival hyperloop company
The chief operating officer of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Andres de Leon, said his company's hyperloop technology is “ready” and safe.
He said the company prioritised safety throughout its development and, last year, Munich Re, one of the world's largest reinsurance companies, announced it was ready to insure their technology.
“Our levitation, propulsion, and vacuum technology have all been developed [...] over several decades and have been deployed and tested at full scale,” he said in a statement to The National.
“Only once the system has been certified and approved will it move people,” he said.
HyperloopTT has begun designing and engineering processes for its Abu Dhabi projects and hopes to break ground soon.
With no delivery date yet announced, Mr de Leon said timelines had to be considered carefully, as government approval, permits, and regulations could create necessary delays.

Classification of skills
A worker is categorised as skilled by the MOHRE based on nine levels given in the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO) issued by the International Labour Organisation.
