The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has launched its first official public profile on social media platform Snapchat.

The new account aims to give potential visitors the chance to explore what the UAE's capital has to offer, in an immersive way.

Public Profiles on Snapchat offer brands the chance to house a variety of content in one place. The Visit Abu Dhabi profile will act as a portal, providing subscribers with travel information and details on things to do in the emirate. From exploring Al Ain’s attractions via the Highlights section to experiencing the capital in real time via Stories or Community Snaps, the account will showcase varied offerings.

At a time when travel is slowly rebounding, Visit Abu Dhabi’s Snapchat presence is aimed at those planning a trip to the UAE, offering a glimpse of the destination from within their phones.

Public Profiles were launched by Snapchat in 2020 as a way of helping brands bring their stories to life. DCT Abu Dhabi has announced that it is the first official tourist board to set up a Public Profile, although others are likely to follow suit as destinations around the world try to kick-start their tourism industries.

To subscribe to the profile, users simply need to download Snapchat and search for Visit Abu Dhabi on the app.
