MELBOURNE // The allrounder Cameron White has been added to Australia's cricket team for their tour of India, replacing the injured Bryce McGain. Cricket Australia said McGain will return to Australia due to a shoulder injury. "We feel that Cameron's right-arm leg spin and experience in Indian conditions, where he has just returned after captaining the Australia A one-day team to a tournament victory, is the correct option and will provide a good balance to our slow bowling attack," said the selectors' chairman Andrew Hilditch.

The 25-year-old White will meet the Australia squad in Bangalore on Monday ahead of the first Test starting on Thursday in the south Indian city. White played for Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 competition this year. The power-hitting White, who also plays for Victoria in Australia and Somerset in England, has played 21 one-day games and two Twenty20 matches for Australia but no Tests.
