Though he said after he was "nervous", Jamaica's superstar sprinter Usain Bolt kept his hopes for a third straight 3-gold Olympics alive when he clocked 20.28 in qualifying heats for the men's 200 metres.

““I hate morning heats so I’m happy to get this out of the way,” Bolt said.

“I was nervous because the 200m is my favourite event. I didn’t want to go out. It’s a good start and I’m happy.”

Bolt won a third straight 100m on Sunday and he’ll also be the Jamaican team’s anchor in the 4x100m relay. In London in Beijing, he won gold in each event.

Osman Samiuddin wrote about the war between Bolt and American Justin Gatlin, which, as always, Bolt is winning. But there are still two events to go for each man, and the 200m final is set for early Thursday in the UAE.
