Soderling sails through

Robin Soderling continued to make his way through the men's draw at Wimbledon, reaching the fourth-round today with a straight-sets win over Nicolas Almagro. The Swede, who is seeded 13th, needed a lengthy tie-break to claim the opening set but then eased to a 7-6 (9/7), 6-4, 6-4 victory in just under two hours on Court Three. A French Open finalist earlier this month, Soderling converted two of six break points during the match and also hit 43 winners against the Spaniard Almagro, who is ranked 48th in the world. Soderling will now face either Roger Federer or Philipp Kohlschreiber in the last 16. That could mean a repeat of the Roland Garros final, where the world No 2 Federer beat Soderling to lift his first title at the claycourt event.
