The sporting world is slowly but surely returning to action after the coronavirus-enforced lockdown.

For the most part, all the action is being played behind closed doors as empty stands, disinfectant bottles and bio-secure environments become the new normal during the ongoing pandemic.

Covid-19 was certainly not going to stand in the way of a vast majority of the hard men and women of mixed martial arts who took part in UFC 251, part of the historic Fight Island event being held on Abu Dhabi's Yas Island.

Headlining Sunday's main event was Kamura Usman's victory over long-time rival Jorge Masvidal.

The welterweight champion dominated his opponent, who had only signed up for the bout six days earlier after Gilbert Burns tested positive for Covid-19, and won by a unanimous decision.

In Formula One's second race of the campaign, the Styrian Grand Prix, world champion Lewis Hamilton led a Merceded one-two in Spielberg with teammate Valtteri Bottas – winner of last weekend's season-opener at the same Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria –  coming home second.
