Felipe Massa admitted that Lewis Hamilton and McLaren-Mercedes had been too quick for him as he settled for second in yesterday's Chinese Grand Prix. The Brazilian driver had to settle for second place behind Hamilton after his Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen allowed him through late in the race, and he now trails the Briton by seven points going into the final race in Brazil.
He said: "We saw Lewis was a bit stronger in the beginning of the race. "I mean he was stronger the whole weekend. "He started to pull away, maybe two or three tenths per lap, and this for sure made his race much more comfortable and for us we were completely driving on the limit trying to reduce the gap, but it was not possible. "We tried to push, as Kimi was trying to push, to get closer to Lewis, but today unfortunately, Lewis had a better car for the whole weekend."
But Massa said he was not giving up on his dream of winning the championship at his home race, adding: "We need to keep our head up, it's not finished yet. We know that anything can happen in sport." @Email:gcaygill@thenational.ae
