Button stays positive and expects better at the Nurburgring

SILVERSTONE // With the Formula One drivers' championship at stake, Jenson Button is ready to show he can fight for the glory. The Brawn GP driver had a rare blip this season in finishing sixth on Sunday at his home British Grand Prix. It was his lowest position in a campaign fuelled by six wins so far and allowed his teammate Rubens Barrichello to reduce his title lead to 23 points. But the Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel, a convincing winner at Silverstone, is the one to watch and Button is ready to meet it head on.

"I'm not massively disappointed," he said. "I lost three points to Rubens here, so I've got a 23-point lead which is still quite a lot to be fair and Rubens is driving the same car as me so I can sort of to keep him in check. "But Vettel's the one where you don't really know where their performance is going to be. It's important for us to be fighting for wins; we can't settle for third or fourth place.

Button is hoping Brawn will be back at the front at the German Grand Prix, on a circuit that is more likely to suit his team. "You've got four heavy breaking turns at the Nurburgring and it will be hot hopefully, so you won't see the advantage Red Bull had here," he said. "They were very quick and I am sure they are going to be competitive at other races, but I just don't think they are going to have the advantage they had here.
