The highs

Monaco 2014

Showed his mettle as he withstood severe pressure from Hamilton to lead all 78 laps around the streets of Monte Carlo, and he has proven to be something of a master in the principality, winning there the past three years.

Austria 2015

This was arguably his most impressive display last season. He passed Hamilton into Turn 1 at the Red Bull Racing Ring at the start, but then pulled away from the world champion, dominating the race to finish eight seconds ahead of his teammate.

Abu Dhabi 2015

The third of three-consecutive wins, albeit with the championship wrapped up, Rosberg was superb around Yas Marina Circuit, opening up a nine-second lead in the opening laps on Hamilton, then controlled the pace of the race to win.

The lows

Italy 2014

The start of where his 2014 title challenge went wrong. Leading Hamilton at Monza, the German looked set to increase his 29-point lead in the drivers’ standings. But he out-braked at Turn 1, going off track, gifting his rival the lead, the win, and the momentum in the championship.

Hungary 2015

Had been given an opening by Hamilton running off track on the first lap, but did not have the speed to match the Ferraris, picked the wrong tyre compounds at his final stop, being more concerned by what his teammate was doing, rather than worrying about his own race.

United States 2015

Rosberg had been great in the damp Texas conditions. He had passed Hamilton on track, been quicker and the only reason Hamilton was anywhere near him in the closing laps was because of a safety car period. But, the reality still was Rosberg made a mistake, running wide, and that gifted Hamilton the win.
