Salem bin Ghadayer hailed Panadol as an “amazing horse” after his convincing debut victory in Week-4 of the Dubai World Cup Carnival at Meydan on Saturday.
Mickael Barzalona made all the running before easing down the American bred Flatter colt to a seven and-three-quarter lengths romp over Endifaa under Adrie de Vries over the mile trip.
“He’s an amazing horse,” Emirati Bin Ghadayer said. “When he first arrived last year and after a few serious workouts, and from his second-third gallop, he started to show a lot of ability.
“He has good brains and is a professional, and after winning on his debut we can only hope he will continue.
“He’s one of those horses everyone dreams about. We would like to wait and see what the handicapper does to him. We don’t want to rush but he deserves to be in the big races.”
On a lighter note, Bin Ghadayer added: “I took a Panadol for a headache and it gave me a big relief.”
Barzalona, who completed a double on another Bin Ghadayer runner Monoski to win the third race, said Panadol lived up to the stable's expectations on the night.
“He’s a nice horse and we had a lot of hopes at the beginning of the season but unfortunately he was not able to run in either the prep race or the [2000] Guineas,” he said.
Monoski came good in his fourth local start. Barzalona had him well placed behind the early leaders in sixth position before taking up the running at the 200m mark to win by a length and three quarter from Celtic Prince.
“It was a good performance and that’s what we expected of him from the beginning of the season,” Barzalona added.
Adrie de Vries completed a double on board the Fawzi Nass-trained Mayehaab and Madkhal.
Mayehaab won the turf maiden on his racecourse debut and Madhkal notched up his second win in five starts in the season.
Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby and Musabah Al Muhairi shared the remaining two prizes with Eastern World (Rosyton Ffrench) and Taneen (Dane O’Neill).
