Former Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham boss Martin Jol has been appointed head coach of Egyptian Premier League leaders Al Ahly.
Jol, who also managed Ajax and Hamburg, has agreed an 18-month contract and will take charge of his first match on March 5 when his new club take on Misr El-Makasa.
Jol’s new club are three points ahead of Zamalek who earlier this week appointed former Scotland, Rangers, Aston Villa and Birmingham manager Alex McLeish as successor to ex-Tottenham striker Mido as coach.
