Manchester United's goalscoring problems return as Bournemouth hold on for win

Manchester United's struggles in front of goal returned on Saturday afternoon after Bournemouth secured a 1-0 win at the Vitality Stadium.

Joshua King's finish just before half time proved the difference between the two sides, and while United pressed forward in search of an equaliser they were unable to regularly trouble Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.

After last weekend's 3-1 win at Norwich City and getting past Chelsea 2-1 in the League Cup in midweek, United looked to be turning a corner.

However, the goalscoring problems that led to United's worst start to a league season returned to haunt Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, who have now lost four of their opening 11 league matches and have slipped to eighth in the standings.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have climbed to sixth ahead of the remaining weekend fixtures, three points ahead of United.
