Manchester United have appointed Jose Mourinho as their new manager, according to reports.
Sky Sports News reported at around 5.20pm on Thursday afternoon Mourinho, who had been pictured earlier in the day leaving and then returning to his London home dressed in a suit, had signed a contract with United to succeed Louis van Gaal.
But no announcement has been forthcoming from the club, and Press Association Sport has been told the deal is not yet complete.
Since Van Gaal was sacked earlier this week, it has looked very much a case of when rather than if Mourinho would be confirmed as United boss.

Talks have been ongoing between Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes and United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward after they met in London on Tuesday.
That was a day after United announced they had parted company with Van Gaal, who guided the Red Devils to an FA Cup triumph last weekend but had a generally disappointing two-year tenure.
The club will play Europa League rather than Champions League football next season after finishing the 2015-16 Premier League season in fifth place.
It is expected Mourinho will oversee a major overhaul of the playing staff as he attempts to revive United’s fortunes - and Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Thursday signalled him moving to United could be on the cards.
