Euro 2020: England get back to work after Germany heroics - in pictures

England's Euro 2020 heroes wasted no time getting back to work on Wednesday, a few hours after their stunning knockout victory against Germany at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate's Three Lions returned to their training base in Burton for a warm down, while some of the players not used in the 2-0 victory were hard at it at training.

England face Ukraine in the quarter-finals in Rome on Saturday night, and with a potential clash against Denmark or the Czech Republic waiting in the semi-finals. Former striker Alan Shearer said: "England will never, ever have a better opportunity to win the Euros."

That pressure seemed a long way from the players' thinking as they relaxed at St George's Park.

But manager Southgate was already looking ahead, saying: "We’ve not achieved what we want to achieve yet. I want to get Saturday right and get my focus on that game."

“These players keep writing history and they’ve got the chance again. We’ve only ever been to one European Championship semi-final so, again, they’ve got the chance to do something really special and we’ve got to make sure we give ourselves the very best chance of doing that.”
