With the Arabian Gulf League season having reached the halfway point, Ahmed Rizvi looks at some of the key numbers from the action thus far.
316 – The number of goals scored in the 91 matches, with Al Ain contributing the most (31) and Sharjah (13) the fewest. Al Ain also lead the individual scorers' list, with Asamoah Gyan at the top on 16. The corresponding number for last season was 332.
406 – The number of yellow cards issued. Ajman have been the best-behaved side with only 20 bookings, while Al Wahda have been the worst offenders, with 36. The most cards in a single game was the 12 issued in the bruising 1-1 draw between Sharjah and Al Jazira.
29 – The number of red cards flashed by the referees in 13 weeks of action. Al Nasr and Al Shaab top the offenders list with five red cards each, while Al Ahli, Ajman and Sharjah have a clean sheet. The most number of sending-offs, five, came in the 13th week.
9 – The number of points Al Ahli have won in injury-time this season. They defeated Dubai and Al Wahda thanks to winners from Ahmed Khalil (94) and Grafite (92), below. Against Ajman, in the 12th round, Ciel scored a penalty in the seventh minute of added time.
7 – The number of coaches dismissed. Al Ain (Jorge Fossati), Al Jazira (Luis Milla), Al Wahda (Karel Jarolim), Al Wasl (Laurent Banide), Al Shaab (Marius Sumudica), Emirates (Eid Barout) and Dubai (Martin Rueda) are the clubs who have changed their managers.
