Abu Dhabi Storms went one up in the Emirates Hockey League best-of-three play-off final with a resounding 7-1 win over the Dubai Mighty Camels at the Abu Dhabi Ice Rink on Sunday.

The Storms had the game won early in the second period after running up a 5-0 lead.

Heikki Kemppainen was on target in the first period, before Matias Posio scored twice and Juma Al Dhaheri and Juhani Ijaz consolidated the lead in the next.

The Storms added two more to their tally through Ijaz and Jere Saarinen in the final period, while Ron Murphy scored a consolation goal for the Camels in the final period.

The Storms travel to the Dubai Mall Rink on Tuesday for the second game, and a win there will crown them the champions.
