The bombings at one of the busiest airports in Europe brought many together to express solidarity with the families of victims. In Kuwait City, Melbourne, Berlin, Paris and other capital cities, tourists sites were lit up in the colours of Turkey’s national flag.
Social-media users applauded the security personnel in Istanbul for their bravery. The way they took control of the situation was reflective of their professionalism and training, they said.
A cleric criticised terrorism as “un-Islamic”, saying those who believe they will attain the Heaven by Killing innocent people will, in fact “go to hell”. He reminded that Islam was a religion of peace.
Another user urged people to be at peace with themselves and spread the message of peace in the world.
All sent their prayers for Turkey and the families of the victims.
