President Sheikh Mohamed discussed Iran's attacks on the UAE and other countries in the region in a phone call with US President Donald Trump.
They discussed developments in the region and their “serious implications for regional and international peace and security, as well as their impact on maritime security and the global economy”, state news agency Wam reported on Wednesday.
The two leaders spoke about Iran's aggression towards neighbouring countries, including attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure. They agreed that it constituted a violation of sovereignty and international law and undermined regional security and stability.
Since the start of the Iranian attacks on February 28, UAE air defences have engaged 438 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles and 2,012 drones.
Iran's sustained air strikes on the country have resulted in the martyrdom of two military personnel and a Moroccan civilian contracted by the UAE Armed Forces, as well as the deaths of nine civilians of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian and Indian nationalities.
A total of 190 people have been injured. They included citizens of the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Turkey, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden and Tunisia.
