A fire broke out on Monday near Abu Dhabi's Al Raha Mall at what appeared to be a petrol station.
Police cars and fire engines arrived at the scene at about 3pm this afternoon, as plumes of thick black smoke were visible in nearby Khalifa City and Al Raha Gardens. Emergency services closed the road as they dealt with the blaze.
The National has contacted Abu Dhabi Civil Defence, who have yet to comment.
