At least seven people were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire during a funeral at a church in Jordan's Karak province on Friday, a relative of one of the deceased told The National.
Petra News Agency confirmed details of the shooting and said casualties were reported. It took place at a funeral for a woman in Hamoud, a Christian village north of Karak.
Two gunmen in a vehicle fired at the mourners and fled, according to the relative.
State-owned broadcaster Al Mamlaka said at least seven people had been killed and more than 10 wounded. Live footage showed security personnel deployed at the scene.
Karak is about 100 kilometres away from the capital, Amman.
