Kick into high gear with your preparation for the beginner-friendly TriYAS triathlon next year with a structured training scheduled which has been put together by Daman ActiveLife.

The organisers have put compiled a seven-day-a-week programme that they believe will give athletes a chance to ready themselves for the swim, cycle and run at Yas Marina Circuit on February 17.

Next year’s course will be on the F1 track and within the Yas Marina. The swim will consist of one or two laps of the 750-metre course. The cycling challenge will consist of four to seven laps of the 5.55km F1 circuit, while the third part will be a one to two laps run on the F1 track and Yas Marina Promenade.

Organisers have capped the number of participants at 1,500 for 2017, all of whom will have the opportunity to work on their fitness and technique in the lead-up to the triathlon.

They will also be taken through the transitions between the disciplines during the training sessions. The sessions will take place at Yas Marina Circuit, NYU Abu Dhabi, the purpose-built cycling track at Al Wathba and the running tack at Yas Island and Khalifa City.

Beginners can join the first-timer programme at Haddins Fitness at Sports Zayed City. TriYAS will also be posting online training programmes, triathlon club features and training trip videos regularly for participants.

Participants can share their personal training experiences on social media by using the hashtag #TriYAS.
