Fitness First has launched a new group training programme for 2017. Called 6D, the 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) programme is based on six dimensions of fitness: move, lift, core, burn, function and recover.

Classes feature six stations, all focusing on movements that drive up the heart rate and target specific muscle groups. Up to 12 participants in each class will work for 45 seconds at a station before resting for 15 seconds and then moving on to the next station – for a total of 30 minutes. Fitness First says up to 600 calories can be burnt in a session and to keep members engaged and motivated, movements will be varied every two weeks. The variation also helps to ensure all muscle groups are being targeted.

Fitness First has more than 30 gyms and community clubs across the UAE and the 6D classes are offered free to members.
