The annual Abu Dhabi Half Marathon is set to take place on Friday, November 20, and registrations are currently open.
This year, the event, which is hosted by the running group Abu Dhabi Striders, will be taking place at the Yas Marina Circuit between 6.30am and 8.30am.
The course will start and finish on Yas Marina Circuit and take runners on a lap of the track before heading out towards Shams Tower and then across towards East Gate, returning to the track for a second lap.
There is the option of signing up for the half marathon (21.1km), or the less strenuous 10k race. Both races come with separate categories for adults and juniors.
The cost of entering the half marathon is Dh225 for adults and Dh180 for juniors (ages 16 to 18). The 10k race is priced at Dh180 for adults and Dh150 for juniors (ages 12 to 18).
Registration includes a race shirt and all finishers will receive a UAE-inspired finisher’s medal.
Parking will be available in the red car park which is accessible only by the East Gate (the West Gate cannot be accessed on the morning of the event). The red car park is a three-minute walk to the event gates.
Precautionary measures have been implemented in and around the circuit, and no post-race function will take place this year. Some of the precautionary measures include mandatory social distancing and hand sanitisation stations spread across the area, while PPE equipment will be available if required.
