This year’s Ramadan Night Market, which opens in Dubai on Thursday, June 23, and runs until July 2, is offering free health check-ups and eye tests to marketgoers.

The fifth annual event, which is to be held at Za’abeel Hall 5 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, will host health experts from the Canadian Specialist Hospital and Max Vision LLC.

Attendees will be able to undergo free blood sugar, blood pressure and BMI tests and have their vision checked.

Samantha Cordeiro Miranda, who works as the brand manager for event organiser Sumansa Exhibitions, says the free screenings are timely and important.

“During Ramadan dietary patterns change suddenly which can hit our body more than we realise, affecting our blood sugar levels and blood pressure,” she says. “Even for those who are not fasting, it’s always a good idea to get a few basic medical tests done to understand the health issues and streamline the dietary habits for a fitter lifestyle – without burning a hole in the pocket.”

The Ramadan Night Market is open from 8pm to 2am each day. Entry costs Dh5, children under 5 are admitted free. For more information visit www.facebook.com/RamadanNightMarket
