The lowdown from Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone wedding so far

Ranveer Singh's stylist, Nitasha Gaurav, put an the aww-inspiring message on Twitter, following the actor's engagement to actress Deepika Padukone in Italy.

If Gaurav is not putting up any images, you know there are none to be had (yet). Nevertheless, there's plenty of news filtering through from the big fat Bollywood wedding.

What we know

We know, for instance, that Singh made his entry to the song Tune Maari Entriyaan, from his film Gunday, for the sangeet ceremony on November 13.

Before that, the couple exchanged rings in the traditional Konkani style, with Padukone's father washing Singh's feet and offering him a coconut. And earlier in the day, the two celebrated their mehendi ceremonies with their respective families: Singh was at the CastaDiva Resort & Spa, while Padukone was at the Villa d'Este.

We also know that her jewellery cost 10 million rupees (Dh508,437), with her solitaire-studded mangalsutra (a necklace worn by a married woman) valued at Dh101,691.

And bizarrely, we also know that the couple got their wedding insured. The all-risk policy, reports Filmfare magazine, will include the loss and damage to any insured property because of fire, theft, aircraft damage, water damage, as well as natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, storms and typhoons.

New wedding location?

Speaking of which, a rumour was doing the rounds that the venue in Lake Como may have to be switched at the last minute because of bad weather. Thankfully, that information was as short-lived as the UAE's recent "monsoon season".

Musicians Shubha Mudgal and Harshdeep Kaur performed at the sangeet, where guests were requested to allow the cameras on their phones to be sealed with stickers, while drones and boat patrols kept the paparazzi at bay. Apparently, the guest list is restricted to 40 close friends, with no sign yet of any other Bollywood stars.

The wedding will take place on November 14 and 15 at Villa del Balbianello, following both the Sindhi and South Indian customs of the groom and bride's communities.
