SYDNEY // Australia will host its own Concours d'Elegance, inspired by the Pebble Beach Concours in California, in October. The inaugural Concours d'Elegance Australia will be held at St Patrick's Estate in Sydney, overlooking Manly Beach, and is expected to host more than 200 classic and prestige vehicles. Concours d'Elegance is derived from the French meaning a "competition of elegance" dating back to the 17th Century. The website for the show declares: "Concours d'Elegance judging is more exacting than that of a general automobile show. Highly respected judges will examine the vehicles thoroughly and in their entirety. They will rate each and every component. Only those vehicles that are judged perfect (or very nearly so) in every way, are considered eligible for trophy class." The event will be held on October 10 - 10/10/10.
