Mohamed Hadid sent the rumour mill into overdrive with speculation that his daughter Gigi had given birth last week after posting a touching letter to his grandchild.

He quickly deleted the post, but not before assuring one fan that the baby wasn’t here just yet. And the property developer has reaffirmed that the supermodel is yet to give birth to her first child, taking to Instagram to tell his followers that he is “waiting patiently” to meet his grandchild.

“Looking out for … soon Inshallah waiting patiently #baby @gigihadid (Jido) (grandpa) in English … is here waiting to meet you … so excited.”

Hadid has joined his family at the Pennsylvania farm where Gigi, alongside her boyfriend, Zayn Malik, and supermodel sister, Bella, have spent the past few months in isolation.

On Monday, Bella shared videos to her Instagram Stories showing her father cooking the family a Middle Eastern feast. The videos showed the whole kitchen counter covered with freshly made dishes, including hummus sprinkled with parsley and drizzled with olive oil, laban with fresh cucumber and Arabic bread sprinkled with Zaatar.

“My baba is the best,” Bella wrote in the caption.

While Gigi was not present in the videos, it's thought the family are rallying around ahead of her giving birth, reported to happen any day now. Last month, she shared striking images from a pregnancy shoot on July 26, when she revealed she was 33 weeks along. That would put her at 40 weeks pregnant currently, at her due date.
