Ramadan is officially under way for another year, with Muslims around the world marking the start of the holy month on Friday.
And celebrations this year are a little different to usual, with the coronavirus pandemic limiting large gatherings and celebrations.
Mosques will remain closed in many countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, but many have taken to social media to share their well wishes for the holy month with followers across the world.
Among those sharing messages online are some of the biggest names in fashion and film.
Sonam Kapoor, Riz Ahmed and Mohamed Hadid have also taken to their social media accounts to mark the start of the holy month, along with local stars such as Hussain Al Jassmi and Huda Kattan.

"This is something that our family focuses on every Ramadan, and it’s really eye-opening. We sometimes take some of the most basic things in life, like food, for granted.”
