The Met Gala's dress code doesn't just extend to what one wears on one's body.

And this year, an array of stars truly channelled the annual fashion extravaganza's theme through their beauty looks, as well as their outfits.

Celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Celine Dion, Kristen Stewart and Sophie Turner all turned the dial up a notch when it came to their make-up, with everything from crystal lashes and feathered headpieces to glittered locks and gem-encrusted eyelids seen on the night.

This year's red-carpet event, held at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 6, had the theme of Camp: Notes on Fashion, based on Susan Sontag's seminal 1964 essay of the same name.

We can all agree that the stars featured in our gallery brought their flamboyant best.
