The Abu Dhabi Pet Festival returns for another year



Another year, another festival dedicated to pets.

The popular Abu Dhabi Pet Festival is coming back to Yas Island, with this year's event scheduled to take place at du Arena on March 15.

The 2019 festival will feature activities to celebrate both dogs and cats, including a dog agility competition, pets fashion show and an international cat and dog competition, as well as food and beverage stalls for  owners. There will also be a pet and owner fancy dress competition, as well as a K9 Unit and petting farm on hand.

The Abu Dhabi Pet Festival is designed to raise awareness about animal welfare and pet services in the UAE, including pet health, training, nutrition and fashion. Veterinary specialists will also be on hand to help educate guests about pet care and the resources available in the UAE.

Here’s a look at the day's schedule:

3pm: Doors open - entry closes at 9pm

3pm to 4pm: Registration for all shows

3pm to 10pm: Vendor stalls

3:30pm to 9pm: Educational farm

4pm to 7pm: Photo wall

4pm to 5pm: Dog show competitions (Main Show Ring)

4pm to 5pm: Agility competition (Agility Ring)

4pm to 7pm: Cat show competitions (AC Tent)

5pm to 6pm: Police K9 demo (Main Show Ring)

5pm to 9pm: Grooming demos (sponsored grooming area)

6pm to 7pm: Obedience demos (Agility Ring)

7pm to 8:30pm: Dog show competitions (Main Show Ring)

7pm to 8.30pm: Agility competitions (Agility Ring)

8pm to 9pm: Fancy dress

10pm: Show ends
