Prince George is 7 today, and to celebrate, his parents have shared two new photos of the young British royal.

As is typically the case with the Cambridges, the photo was taken by his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share two new photographs of Prince George ahead of his seventh birthday tomorrow," reads a Tuesday, July 21, statement from Kensington Palace. The photos are undated, but are said to have been taken earlier this month.

One is a relaxed photo that has been shared to Instagram, and shows George beaming, wearing a green polo shirt. It is likely that the picture was taken at the family's Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, where they have been isolating.

In the second photo, George looks to be in a field, wearing a green, camouflage-print T-shirt, and is smiling at the camera.

After his grandfather, Prince Charles, and father, Prince William, Prince George is third in line to the British throne.

The family have made sharing photos taken by the Duchess of Cambridge a birthday tradition.

In May, they shared images of Princess Charlotte, George's younger sister, to celebrate her fifth birthday.

In the photos, the young royal is handing out food packages prepared for isolated pensioners in the local area during the coronavirus pandemic. She is pictured carrying bags and knocking on a door.

This month, the Duchess of Cambridge, formerly Kate Middleton, gave an insight into family life in the months that they have been staying home.

The green-fingered children have been growing plants at home, she said, however, Prince George is "grumpy" that his two-year-old younger brother Prince Louis's sunflower is bigger than his.

"The children are really enjoying growing their sunflowers, Louis’s is winning so George is a little grumpy about that," the duchess said, while visiting families from East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

She also said, in an interview with BBC Breakfast, that the youngest prince hasn't fully grasped the concept of social distancing yet.

"Louis doesn't understand social distancing, so he goes out wanting to cuddle everything and particularly any babies younger than him."
