Emirates airline is to begin "discussions" with Fifa over its sponsorship of the World Cup, following a report that the airline may not renew the agreement beyond 2014.
The airline in 2006 paid a record-breaking $195 million to become a Fifa 'partner' from 2007 to 2014, but earlier this year said it was "disappointed" by the corruption allegations that hit Fifa.
Boutros Boutros, divisional senior vice president of corporate communications at the airline, told Australian media website B&T that the airline felt "overlooked" during the voting scandal at Fifa.
"We are seriously thinking about not renewing our partnership with FIFA beyond 2014," Mr Boutros is reported as saying.
An Emirates spokeswoman said that the airline plans to start discussions with Fifa over the sponsorship deal.
"Emirates has not yet commenced discussions with Fifa on the extension of our partnership agreement beyond 2014. Discussions will begin in due course," the spokeswoman told The National.
