Facebook’s website returned to service after some users weren’t able to access the social networking site earlier in the day.
“Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can,” Facebook said on its website when accessed in cities including Tokyo, London, Delhi, Moscow and Taipei Thursday morning.
The site, which has 1.3 billion users around the world, was available again for login after half an hour with no immediate explanation for the outage.
Charlene Chian, a Singapore-based spokeswoman for the company, didn’t immediately answer a call and e-mail seeking comment.
Facebook crashed in the US in February this year, after previously going offline for four hours in October last year due to network maintenance.
Facebook said in April that revenue rose 72 per cent to US$2.5 billion, beating analysts’ average estimate at the time of $2.36 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
